Llama Drama with Baby and Mama May 5, 2008 S. Conrad (USA) This book is really cute. I bought it to read to my son and he seems to really like it. He is only 6 months so there is a limit to what he will sit through. The book is well illustrated and is written in rhyme so that is probably the appeal for him. I like it too. I read a few books to him every day and there are only a few I am not tired of. This is one of the ones I look forward to reading. When I read the title I thought to myself... "What could this book be about?" Llama Llama Red Pajama is basically a book about Llama Drama with Baby and Mama. I say buy it!
Llama Llama Happy Mama got this book! April 14, 2008 Melaina Lara (Campbell, California USA) My 2 and 4 year old and I, LOVE Llama Llama Red Pajama, it described and illustrated our bedtime dramas perfectly. This follow up, Llama Llama Mad at Mama is the most excellent follow up, it now describes perfectly our trips the the shopping center, (now dubbed the Shop-o-Rama!!). The illustrations are just gorgeous, they really capture the feeling and looks I get from my own kids. The prose is witty rhymes. Love it. I simply can't say enough great things about this, a gem of a book!!
Great Book For Toddlers April 2, 2008 S. Bolanos (Los Angeles, CA) I purchased this book on sale and was going to save it for when my 17 month old was a little older. On a whim I read it to her after her bath and she loved it. The rhytmic tone of the book and the rhyming kept her interest. She usually sits through much shorter books with a bit of trouble and squirming, but she loved the pictures which where beautiful and colorful but not overwhelming to a toddler's eyes. I recommed this book to parents of younger children.
Mama loves this Llama Drama March 31, 2008 Kelly A. Kalvans (Riverview, MI USA) We love this book, my 3 year old daughter loved Llama Llama Red Pajama and this one is just as fabulous, we talk about how it's boring to sit in the cart, and how if you are feeling like a Llama to ask momma for some walking time so as to not Crash The Cart....cute story about feelings and helping out...highly recommended for all families who want to expand their bedtime story list...
Squirmy Two Year Old? Not a Problem For This Book!!! March 16, 2008 K. Ham (Northwest Arkansas, USA) I gave this book a REAL breaking in today. My son has been throwing up all day long and been inconsolable. He was thrashing and unhappy, so adding a new book to a sick two year old's attention span seemed impossible. But, this book arrived today and I wanted to read it, so I decided to read it to myself, despite him. To my shock, my squirmy son was cuddled up on my lap and asking me, "Read again?" by the end! My son loves books, but it usually takes a week for him to warm to a new one. He's impatient and grows annoyed that I read, while he only wants to turn pages and point to the pictures. Not this time. The canter of the words, the storyline, and the illustrations were all EXCELLENT!!! If you worry about a new book's reception in your home, this is a perfect one to try. (So good I even came to write a review!!!) :D If you have a toddler, you should own this item. It has a great message about dealing with frustration and outbursts in public and is a super choice for a boy, or a girl. I worked in a library for four years and was in charge or ordering children's books a number of years ago, so I know how many choices are out there for someone who wants to begin building a children's library in their home--especially on a limited budget. If your family is just starting out with reading, this would absolutely make my top ten list for "Great Books that Teach Your Toddler to Love Reading." YES, I was THAT impressed.
